Black cats are also considered lucky in Japan. That's why it's spotted here on fabric from the famous textile designer brand, Kokka. Set against white , with dainty red ribbons scattered amongst the little black cats, it charmed us over, as buyers!

Meet Maneki Neko, Japan's Lucky Cat.
It translates as  "welcoming or beckoning cat". A raised right paw welcomes wealth and fortune. A raised left paw beckons customers. That's why Maneki Neko is often placed in restaurants and shops.  In short, cats mean business !
During the recent recession, Lucky Cats with both paws raised became popular. You can probably guess the reason why.

The above fabric is another delightful design from Kokka which we will present in our new collection. Please bring us luck!
